"Contraband" layout again!!

Today I have another layout to post, again using "contraband" materials....ie: non-Close To My Heart.  I really am trying to finish up older projects and use some of my stash.  The design is simple, I sometimes think we stress ourselves out too much about our layouts being so beautiful that we forget the purpose, to document our lives for generations to come. It doesn't have to be drop-dead gorgeous every single time, the photos and the journalling are the important pieces - in my humble opinion.
One of the rides at Sea World in Orlando, the Kracken - my husband decided he would stay on the ground to take pictures while his boss and I rode the Kracken!! He missed a really fun, exhilarating ride!

Another thing I've been busy with this past week or so was setting up my facebook business page, check it out if you have time   www.facebook.com/pages/Roz-Kelly-Independent-Consultant-CTMH/245927542251147

And......I have made the plunge into Pinterest!  I know, I know.....what took me so long?!  I had heard so many stories of people being "lost" for days on Pinterest that I really shied away from it....that is probably what will happen to me any day now!! hahaha   Anyone have any tips to navigate all those pins?

A few more layouts.....

I know, you're thinking "WOW", another post this week!! hahahaha  I have so many cute layouts to share, cards as well, plus I have some Blog Hops coming up that I am participating in, so there should be lots to look at in the next few weeks.  The new CTMH Idea Book is available on Feb. 1st, so there will be some artwork using some of our lovely new products as well.  Hope you'll visit again, for now I give you this:

This was a layout I thought I had already posted, but didn't see it when I checked back.  More paper that has been in my stash for a long time (it's actually from a Christmas collection from Harmonie). The photos are from a crop I attended in Ontario when I was living in Manitoba.  Packing for that flight was interesting!  The crop was the same weekend that William and Kate got married, so we were celebrating with a toast of "Cheers, big ears" just like the folks were doing when Prince Charles appeared on their TV screens!  Not meant to be disrespectful, more congratulatory I think, or at least I hope!  Miss these gals, we had a lot of fun times together.

OK, here we go.....

Well, as you already know, I fell short of my posting goal for last year, again!  In my defense, I DID create the 52 layouts last year, but quite a few of them still need journalling and so I have an "unfinished layout" pile on my desk - again!!  So my goal for myself this year is going to be to finish those unfinished projects I have on the go, and they are not all scrapbooking/cardmaking related.  I have a quilt that's half finished, a scarf that just needs to be cast off, and a couple of home decor projects that need to be completed.  I sometimes feel overwhelmed when I look at my "to do" list but always feel so much better when I can check something off!  Here's my unfinished project pile on my desk:
And here are a couple of the layouts that were in that pile:

I love using Page Maps sketches to create my layouts and this is one of them.  If you don't already subscribe, go to PageMaps.com to sign up for the monthly e-mail containing free sketches.
This patterned paper is from Creative Memories and was done as part of a challenge at a crop held at Kings Edgehill School.  I love the vibrant colours - perfect for these pictures of Tyler.
Another thing that makes me happy is using my stash, and I have a large one!  The 12 x 12 overlay on this last layout has been in my craft room for several years now, waiting for the right picture - all I had to do was add some brads and a tag and I was done!

More to come!
